AndroGel Testosterone Therapy Can Cause Strokes, Pulmonary Embolisms, Heart Attacks, Blood Clots and Deaths

Widely prescribed testosterone medications, like AndroGel, have now been shown to cause strokes, pulmonary embolisms, heart attacks, blood clots, osteonecrosis and death. A watershed study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in November 2013 showed a dramatic increase of up to 30% in the risk of stroke, pulmonary embolism, blood clots, heart attack and death in men taking testosterone. The study showed that the risk of a heart attack was significantly increased by using testosterone.

On January 31, 2014, the FDA announced that it was reconsidering the safety of testosterone therapy medications. On June 19, 2014, the FDA issued a partial labeling change for testosterone to warn about the risk of blood clots. The partial labeling change will impact testosterone lawsuits where patients suffered blood clots. On March 3, 2015, the FDA announced that testosterone labels will be changed to warn about the risks of heart attacks and strokes and also to clarify that testosterone should not be used to treat Low T or low testosterone levels associated with aging.

AndroGel and other testosterone medications do not provide adequate warnings about these risks and about the monitoring and testing necessary to minimize these risks. For this reason, our testosterone lawsuits are only filed against the manufacturers and distributors, not your physicians.
