Sheller, P.C. is currently handling rhabdomyolysis claims arising from patients being prescribed 80mg doses of Zocor, Simvastatin (generic Zocor) and Vytorin. The FDA issued a statement in March 2010 warning that patients being prescribed the highest dose of Zocor, 80mg, are 50 times more likely to develop rhabdomyolysis (a breakdown of the muscles that can cause kidney failure), the severest form of myopathy. In addition, individuals who are taking Vytorin 10/80, which contains 80mg of Zocor, are at the same risk of developing rhabdomyolysis.
If you or someone you know has developed rhabdomyolysis as a result of taking 80mg of Zocor, Simvastatin, or Vytorin, please contact Sheller, P.C. at 1-800-883-2299.
