Northern District of Ohio Slated for DePuy MDL 2197 Case Consolidation
Case consolidation for the DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. ASR Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation MDL 2197 will proceed in the Northern District of Ohio.
Patients who have been injured as a result of having a DePuy hip implant product implanted will have a more efficient way to pursue their claims as a result of the Multidistrict Litigation (MDL) creation. MDL 2197 was created after a November 2010 hearing in which the merits of the complaints were discussed to determine if an MDL would be the most appropriate means to handle the growing complaints filed by patients injured by DePuy’s faulty ASR hip implant.
In MDL 2197, as in all MDLs, each case will be filed individually and stand on its own facts.
