Baby carrots from the Los Angeles Salad Company are being recalled. The company has issued the baby carrot recall due to possible contamination with Shigella bacteria. The affected carrots were sold under two labels and distributed in several states. One label is Los Angeles Salad Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots, distributed in Colorado, California, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida. The carrots were also sold under the name Trader Joes Genuine Sweet Baby Carrots, distributed in New Mexico, Oregon, Arizona, Washington, Nevada and California. Symptoms of Shigella infection include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and fever. The infection can be passed from person to person and can last up to 14 days.
