BREAST IMPLANT-ASSOCIATED ANAPLASTIC LARGE CELL LYMPHOMA LAWSUIT

The issue surrounding anaplastic large-cell lymphoma and breast implants is likelier to occur with textured implants compared rather than smooth implants. The textured implant has what The New York Times describes as a pebbly surface, according to the agency.

FDA released updated safety alert for Breast Implant ALCL The FDA first identified a possible connected between breast implants and the development of ALCL in 2011.  There wasn’t enough information at the time, and doctors were asked to monitor their patient’s condition. Now that 6 years have passed, the FDA has updated their safety alert after receiving a total of 359 injuries reports that have to do with breast implant-associated lymphoma cancer.   The injuries being reported happened more frequently for women who need to undergo breast implant revision surgery or late onset seroma.The FDA’s medical device reports indicate that the average time it took to develop ALCL was about 7 years. Injuries were more frequent for women who had textured surface implants versus smooth surface implants.
