Philadelphia attorney Jamie Sheller discussed the dangers of MTD snowthrowers with the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper. MTD snowthrowers were the subject of a recall over three years ago. However, the recalled MTD snowthrowers are still being sold and consumers continue to be hurt.

Attorney Jamie Sheller represents people who have been injured by MTD snowthrowers. One of her clients is the father of a 12-year old who was injured recently by the exploding tire of an MTD snowthrower. Though the snowthrowers were recalled three years ago due to the problem of exploding tires, Sheller’s client purchased his MTD snowthrower in December 2009, unaware of the recall or the defective tires on the MTD snowthrower.

The recalled snowthrowers were sold under several brand names, such as Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, and Craftsman, and were marketed from July 2004 – March 2006. If you have one of the recalled MTD snowthrowers, immediately stop using it. Attorney Sheller remains concerned that consumers don’t know about the recall and are still getting hurt by MTD snowthrowers. According to Sheller, consumers are vulnerable to product defects and the legal process surrounding defective products.
