Kroger’s store-brand “Southern Style” and “Mustard” style potato salads are being recalled. The company is recalling the potato salads due to concerns of E. coli contamination. E. coli is a bacteria that can cause intestinal illness and other problems. Testing of some potato salads by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, showed positive results for E. coli. However, no illnesses have been reported and additional analysis by a third-party laboratory came back negative. Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati, is urging customers not to eat the potato salads with a “best if used by” date of Sept. 5. Kroger stores are in 31 states, many under different names.
