Consumer Alert: Hip Replacement Patients

The following hip devices are either defective or have been recalled:

• DePuy Orthopaedics:ASR XL Replacement System, ASR Hip Resurfacing System
• Zimmer, Inc.: Duron Hip Cup

Complications arising from the defective/recalled devices includes imparied mobility, pain, abnormal blood tests and x-rays. In some instance, a revision surgery (removal and replacement) may be necessary.
