MTD recalled a series of plastic snow thrower wheels in 2006, but consumers continue to get injured by these products. Specifically, the tires' plastic rims explode when consumers try to fill the flat tire on the snow thrower with air.
This year alone, Sheller, P.C. has been contacted by numerous consumers who suffered severe lacerations, broken bones, and other injuries when these rims exploded this past 2009/2010 winter.
